Wild Things 2019 has come to pass

This year, an unprecedented number of Wild Things community members met, exchanged ideas and information, stories, and even a few seeds at the Wild Things 2019 conference.

And while there are mountains of data yet to be pulled from the session, venue, exhibitor, and sponsor surveys, here are a few preliminary figures:

  • There were 2,460 of us in attendance
  • 115 volunteers planned and executed the conference
  • 150 scholarships were made available
  • 136 sessions were presented by a total of total of 279 presenters
  • 47 posters were presented by 44 poster presenters
  • There were 12 content tracks
  • There were 62 exhibitors
  • We received 18 sponsorships

Over 2,400 session evaluation responses resulted in an average approval rating of 8.9 out of 10 possible points. Kudos to the session presenters!

The larger venue allowed the conference to grow 46% from the last conference.

There are many lessons to be learned and improvements to be made, but seeing the growth of our constituency for nature and conservation is rewarding.

In the coming months, visit the http://wildthingscommunity.org website to see more outcomes from the 2019 event, and learn about upcoming opportunities for you to help guide the 2021 gathering.

Congratulations to All!
